Meet Carrie
Biography
Carrie Plater is a local Wasaga Beach resident whose family has been in the area for 7 generations. A dedicated real estate agent and community builder, Carrie is passionate about enhancing the quality of life for residents. She is running for municipal council in Wasaga Beach in 2026 to bring a fresh voice to local governance.
Carrie's vision for Wasaga Beach is rooted in community engagement and sustainable development. By listening to the needs of residents and promoting inclusive decision-making, she aims to foster a vibrant, thriving community where everyone has a stake in its future.
Community Involvement
Carrie has been very involved in her community over many decades. In her 20's she was involved with the local hospice in the community she was living in at the time, Burlington, ON. With her 20+ years with Avon Canada, she devoted many hours raising awareness and funds for their Breast Cancer Awareness initiative.
Carrie moved back to Simcoe County in 2012, residing first in Creemore, ON. During her time in Clearview Township, she was a vital member of the Stayner Lions Club and volunteered many hours to the Clearview Stayner Food Bank.
In 2019, she moved back to Wasaga Beach, where she has been involved with The Living Wish Foundation as a director, assists with the Toy Mountain endeavours with Simcoe Muskoka Family Connextions, volunteers with Hospice Georgian Triangle, Coldest Night of the Year and advocates for inclusivity at her job at E3 Community Services Inc.
Town Involvement
Carrie is a big supporter of all local community events. Recently, she was a sponsor of the Wasaga Beach River Dragons, is a member of the Economic Development and Tourism Advisory Committee, loves to go to all music events in the town and shop at the Farmer's Market.
